Very Disturbing Report on University of Missouri

Caution, this involves horrible abuse of cats.

Just saw this video from a college course on unions. The professors seem to actually promote violence, and near the end of the video it details horrible abuse of cats. The professor even says not to think about the cats. Really?!?

This is a link to an article, and the video clip is in the article. You will need to click again to watch the video. The info about the cats is near the end. Again, caution, as it is very disturbing.

Andrew Breitbart strikes again.

Well, that's coming from sourcewatch, the epitome of liberal spin site, and hardly an impartial watchdog source IMO.

Regardless, those aren't short snipets and there is no amount of spin that justifies electrocuting innocent cats as a means to an end. Period. Its animal cruelty and deserving of jail time, no matter one's political opinions, thats just common sense.

Nobody is going to argue that the Peruvian union activists' actions weren't animal cruelty.

From Andrew Breitbart, another lesson in video editing

n typical Breitbart fashion, you’re left wondering. Where is the outrage? Does it lie in the content of two videos, one six minutes-plus, the other seven minutes 25 seconds?

Or are the postings themselves, distilled from more than 30 hours of raw footage, and the suggested interpretation, more outrageous?

It’s too early to say with any certainty. (“We will be publishing A LOT more video,” BigGovernment.com editor Michael Flynn said in an email.)

But remember Shirley Sherrod, the U.S. Department of Agriculture official who was fired after this same website posted a video that seemed to suggest that Sherrod, an African-American, was prejudiced and refused to help a white farmer early in her career.

Come to find out, she was making the opposite point, about how she overcame her bias and helped the white farmer.

You would almost think Ancel and Giljum were having a conversation on the same day. Then you notice that although Giljum wears the same outfit beginning to end in one video, Ancel has a change of clothes.

It’s chop-shop “journalism,” processed meat for the right-wing media machine.

Lectures on union violence attract notice
Part of UM class shown on video.

St. Louis campuses are looking into the situation.

The videos are clearly edited — something Breitbart is known for. His news aggregate website is the one that put out an edited video showing Shirley Sherrod, an official at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, claiming she discriminated against a white farmer. The video later was shown to have been edited out of context, and Sherrod has filed a lawsuit against him.

In a string of clips from the UM class, Giljum is shown advising students to get creative with union strategies.

Just to clarify, nothing was edited in Shirley Sherrod's speech from what I saw, other than that it wasn't posted in its entirety to give full context of what she was trying to say.

This is what was posted on their site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_xCe...embedded#at=32

The entirety of her speech is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9NcCa_KjXk But yeah, her point was that she was finally able to overcome her racism, however, considering the wording she is using there is no way she could have kept her job after the public saw it without embarrassing the administration IMO.

In any case, I don't see what context would make it ok to promote violence against animals, and encourage people not to think about their welfare. Doesn't matter if they are left, right, or libertarian, wrong is wrong.

Huh? Where did you come up with the "epitome of liberal spin"? Breitbart is a conservative blogger.

Just curious.

What? Reading comprehension fail.

Sourcewatch is known to take any news and put massive liberal spin on it, in this case their report on conservative Breitbart. They are a self-professed liberal group that looks to act as a watchdog to conservative policy makers. They are not a trusted impartial site, so while they can be very useful in pointing out faults of the right, they have to be taken with a grain of salt and information verified by a neutral party.

In any case, how can someone defend what was said? Politics aside, I thought we all cared about feline welfare, so there is no excuse to look the other way no matter the party affiliation. Cmon now...

There are liberals and conservatives that are downright abusive to animal rights, and in this case it was liberals, but the important thing to address is that we not tolerate such language from either side and condemn them when we see it as we have here, agreed?
