If it had come out AFTER the wedding; I probably would have found it all a little less ridiculous. I'm a sucker for romantic stories; but they started showing it over a month ago I believe. I mean the wedding hasn't even happend yet! God forbid something happend between then and the wedding... If it's available OnDemand I might watch it some other time though.

I like the way you worded that and that is my thought as well. I just don't see me being awake for it! Not with a 15 month old to chase around!

Me too! I've been tuning into everything "Royal" for the past couple of weeks.

I remember watching Lady Diana marry Prince Charles, or rather his father since she flubbed her vows
And here I am watching her son get married.

Geez! Now I'm feeling old!

That was probably Princess Anne?. We didn't get a days holiday for hers. It must be because it's our future King that were getting this one.

A couple of the neighbours and myself are going shopping tomorrow afternoon to get the BBQ food and wines. I was going to stay in the house to watch it before we do the BBQ but were all going into one of the neighbours houses to get into the spirit of things

i CANT WAIT for this to be over with. not that im not happy about the wedding, because this is a big event...but its a big event for britain. EVERY time i turn on the tv its all about this dang wedding. i think america should probably spend some more time focusing on our troops getting screwed out of pay, our government shutting down, and the unreal unemployment rate rather than who is going to be sitting next to who at the reception.

Over the river and through the woods...
I would love to watch it, but we don't have cable, and I probably wouldn't get up that early anyway. But I love weddings, and the more formal and ceremonial the better! I remember bits and pieces of Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding only because my mom made me watch parts because it was "history in the making". Yeah, don't tell that to a 10 or 11 year old that just wants to go outside and play.

I've always loved the whole romantic idea of royalty and the history involved. The closest thing we have in the US are families like the Kennedys I guess, and they just don't cut it.

Susan, I saw a coffee mug on one of the talk shows showing Kate and Harry. It was printed by mistake and will probably end up being a collector item.

I would love to be able to pop out and buy some souvenir - hopefully they'll have some here just as they did for Elizabeth's coronation.

My cats get me up every morning at four, so I will be watching. Has anyone even said how much $$ is being dropped into this event?

I want to see the little homeless girl who has a special invitation and a designer gown and her meeting her "Prince" for the first time, which according to our news sources will happen after the wedding is over. I just think they are well-matched and I wish them happiness.

I wish them happiness as well, but I will also be glad when it's over. I'm so sick of hearing about it.

For those not in Canada, we have a federal election on May 2. Many of the news sites, including the CBC, had bigger ads promoting the wedding than ones about the election. We have had lower voter turn outs and we're focusing on a wedding?! Sorry, but that's part of what ruined it for me.

I'm not getting up at 4 am to watch it. I don't particularly want to watch any of it at all, but I'm sure it will be all over the news and internet for days after so I'm sure I'll catch something.

EDIT: marquess - a British peer ranking below a duke and above an earl

I guess that's good

EDIT EDIT:

I did it again and it came up with something completely different

Lady Linda Arabella Dioncott of Winnipegport

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Another

Princess Linda Pippa Dionskitt of Winnipegham

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: I can stop now, I reached top rank! hehe

HM Queen Linda Lulu Dionberton of Winnipegshire

Personally I'd rather hear about the Royal Wedding than hear the "three stooges" spout more and more lies about what they will do if they are elected and we all know that none of them will keep their promises, or how perfectly awful their opponents are compared to themselves - same old, same old. At least the wedding is something new.

Edit: I'm Princess Linda Pippa Coxham of Ingersollport

I know what you mean, but with the voter turnout the way it has been it just boggles my mind that they were advertising something in another country more heavily that encouraging voters to actually get out there and do something for their own country.

The advertisements for the election that were on CBC weren't supporting any particular party, just encouraging people to get out and vote. Rick Mercer is actually going to be here on Saturday for our Vote Mob in Vic Park. I will say it's nice to see that more and more young people are actually paying attention and are saying that they're going to vote now than in the last election.

To keep this relevant, I'm HM Queen Alicia Calthorpe Foordskitt of Londonton, lol.

Oh and Linda; I have no idea where half the titles stand to one another! I was reading a Regency period book recently and thinking I need to go do some reading up on it! Might make things make more sense!
