It's not everyone's cup of tea, even some Brits won't be watching it. But their expecting over 2 billion people to tune in on Friday.

The UK has been given a days holiday for it, so i'll be up at 6.a.m because that's when it's on t.v. My neighbours are also talking about having a street party like most of the country so l hope it happens

Ill be watching. Lol I have the dvr set to start at 4am for the pre wedding stuff on TLC and E!. Good thing I already wake up at 4 so it won't be a super early day to watch it all.

I saw them talking about it on E at 7.30.a.m this morning!.

I can't wait to see her dress!

I will watch coverage of it for sure, but not 'as it's happening'. Here in America, we have entertainment news from 7-8 P.M. and even an entire channel called "E" that covers entertainment 24/7. The reason why I like Kate is because of all the nice anecdotal stories about her-- that she is a very nice person naturally (and it shows on her face IMO). The Prince needs a good nice woman by his side and his family has endured much sadness, so happiness is a nice change of pace!

>Edit: Oh I wrote about "E" as you were posting, Susan

I watch that channel quite a bit here. I'll be watching it on SKY which covers things better than what the BBC do these days IMO, but no doubt i'll be flicking channels during the run up.

I'm so ready to see not only her dress but her hair. I have hopes she will wear it down or half up and half down. I adore her hair.

Ooh, street party sounds like fun. As an American though, its my patriotic duty to oppose monarchs... so maybe I'll watch disapprovingly too see how many tax dollars went to that.

I seriously couldn't care less and truthfully am REALLY tired of hearing about it. To each his own I guess.

Actually, l mentioned her hair as well to my sister on Saturday. I'm hoping it's up or half up because l think it looks lovely with a veil

They were talking to a girl on breakfast t.v. this morning who was in the year above Kate at university, and she said no matter what she wore, even when she went running, her hair was always immaculate!.

As long as this thread doesn't end up as a debate in IMO because that isn't what l want

Some women are blessed with fab hair In Kate's case, I think it's her crowning glory!

I am!!! But then again, your Queen is also Canada's Queen!

The wedding is on in the middle of the night here, so I'll be taping it. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

I waking up early through I don't have cable TV so I'll be watching what the networks have for coverage. Though I read that American TV networks will not be allowed in Westminster Abbey so they will be buying the feed from either SKY or BBC I suppose.
I'll have my coffee and wither some scones ot Irish soda bread for an early breakfast.
I like the pagentry of the entire process! I was relaying this to my much younger male co-workers and they can't understand the fuss.

Mu time zone the coverage is at 3 am but I won't get up until 4 am.

My thoughts EXACTLY!!

Of course I'll be up in the wee hours of the morning to see this wedding. I have always loved the monarchy. When I was a little girl I had scrapbooks of all the royals with any pictures I could find in any magazine/paper. Charles was just a little boy. I also have a plate from Queen Elizabeth's coronation which I remember begging my mom to let me eat off it from time to time. It is trimmed in 24K gold so I didn't get to do that too often.

I remember getting up to see Princess Ann's wedding and Diana's wedding and this one is going to be just as fabulous.

As Linda says, your Queen is also our Queen and a fabulous old gal!

We'll all have to connect on Skype during the wedding!

I'll definately be watching on TV! I don't like getting up super early, but in this case I'll make the sacrifice.
Ill be watching it at work we actually have a few plans at work so it should be quite good

AND also the Royals themselves are paying for the majority of the wedding our tax money is paying for the security there

I may watch bits and pieces but just to see the horse guard and the carriages........the rest, not interested
post #23 of 133
I may sneak a peak here and there on Friday, but I won't be getting up at 4AM or 1AM or whatever silly time coverage starts here. I'm not that interested, mainly because I'm not the one marrying William. Haha, no, just kidding. Though I did have a poster of him on my bedroom wall about 15 years ago...

My BF who is from England (W. Yorkshire) has been going on about it for months, but mostly going on about how Wills better be the next King and not Charles (and this usually comes out after a few beers.. ).

He claims he won't be up mega early to watch it, and he may not be, but I'm sure he will be keeping tabs on it while he's at work, and he'll probably have the TV on Friday night too. I know his mom will be watching it all day long in England, we were talking about it a bit when his parents were here visiting a few weeks ago. She can't wait for it. She's really glad that there will be some new blood in the family, a bit of modern youth to go along with changing times.

^lmao Erica......I'm on the same side as your bf. I prefer William over Charles also.

Poor Chaz has been overloaded with wedding stuff I've been recording at night to watch while he's at work.
I don't know if I'll watch it or not. I can't see myself getting up at 3 in the morning, as I'm a night owl and usually don't go to bed till after 1 in the morning. I can't see myself hauling my butt out of bed after only an hour or so of sleep. I'll probably just watch the highlights on the news.

I do remember watching Diana & Charles wedding (of course, I was a lot younger back then, and didn't need as much beauty rest ). I just loved her. It's so tragic that she died so young. I remember bawling my eyes out after seeing the sad news on TV.

thats funny because the other night my dh was watching reruns of Charles and Dianas wedding. I didn't say anything but was wondering what the heck he was doing....hardly a guy thing.

So I asked him and he said he was watching for the horses! When that part was over, the channel changed!

I've been watching all of the wedding shows too! Mostly the biographies and such. I don't particularly care for the shows that speculate on her dress, the food and cake etc.

Kate is a very pretty girl, and she is going to make a gorgeous bride!

NOT ME!!!

No offense, but I'll be glad when it is all over....

Sensible guy, your dh!!!! I've watched coronations over and over again to see the horses, heck with whomever was getting crowned; same with weddings. The change in the horses from the earliest filmed stuff to now is very interesting.
