I feel like I am always asking for Vibes... Bugsy...

I am feeling down right now, so forgive me if I don't make much sense...
I am sure most remember Bugsy's diarrhea... Well, he was good for a little while, but it has slowly coming back. Yesterday I walked by the litterbox and noticed a pool of liquid diarrhea - it is back full force.
I called the vet first thing this morning, and we both decided the best to do is exploratory surgery with a full biopsy of all his digestive organs.
At this point we feel we tried all we could try to get here. It's been almost 7 months of diarrhea. Many different treatments - antibiotics, steroids, natural treatments, all sorts of tests you can possibly imagine.
Treating him affected his liver so trying and error is no longer a choice.
We could do a simple endoscopic biopsy, but that would mostly confirm IBD, and Bugsy had no response whatsoever to steroids. His tests also show a low level of inflammation.
From his vet experience, due to endoscopy limitations in complicated cases such as Bugsy, we could fall into a situation of having to do a second procedure with inconclusive biopsy results, and having to do this procedure anyways... With exploratory they can sample all digestive organs and visually check them for problems.
So here we are...
He goes in on the 16th, spends the night and comes back on the 17th at noon. They will biopsy his stomach, pancreas, liver and intestines.
I am crushed, but at the same time hoping this will give us some answers. I am ready to have Bugsy healthy again... I just wish I could explain to him why he needs to go through so much pain so often... He just went through a rough dental surgery If I just could take his pain away...
My poor baby...
Please if you can spare some vibes, it would be much appreciated...

Sending lots of vibes for Bugsy. I have just spent the last 7 weeks in hell with my girl Brie because of explosive diarrhea and multiple infections and it turns out she has septicemia. I kept thinking the whole time of how long you have survived through Bugsy's ordeal and how you must have kept your sanity through puddle after puddle of poo It's exhausting. I'm sending lots of vibes that you can get a diagnosis.

I am sorry this problem is back again for your kitty. I hope a diagnosis is made soon and a cure or a way to control this is found. I know it is exhausting, expensive, and scary to deal with something that they just can't seem to find a definitive diagnosis for.

Oh, no, I'm so sorry to hear that Bugsy's diarrhea came back. Tons of that the exploratory surgery goes well, you get some answers and treatment that will resolve the problem once and for all.

Vibes and prayers for you and Bugsy. So the surgery is not until May? That's a long time to wait and worry. I'll be sending vibes and prayers every day.

Oh no! How frustrating!!! Poor Bugsy!

You can have all the vibes I can muster, for as long as it takes to get Bugsy well. I hope you finally get some answers. I wish you didn't have to wait 3 weeks to know more. It's so hard on both of you.

Can only imagine how very distressful this is on you and Bugsy. And for so many months. I pray that you will have the answers very soon for you baby. He is such a little trooper to have to deal with all of the tests on top of having to deal with the diarrhea. Sending Bugsy and you both as many vibes as I have for you to finally have an answer.

Thanks otto... Well... today is the 26th... I have a trip coming up on the 9th. My vet had an opening very close to the 9th or on the 10th - I would never do it when I was out of town. After waiting 7 months, it is not like this is an emergency surgery... I need to do it when it is the best time for him to recover close to me. That is the date I picked.

I am so sorry that the problem has come back, and I'm also praying that the biopsy can get you a definitive reason - and that it's a very treatable condition. that all goes as well as possible and you and Bugsy, and all your other babies, are in the thoughts and prayers of many many people - I hope that helps to know that.

Oh, Carolina, I sure know how you feel! After that episode where all my furkids got sick back in September, I realized just how exhausting taking care of 11 sick cats can be - all while Randall was in the hospital at the time. Between him & the cats, I felt like the life had been sucked out of me.

Many, many vibes & prayer for both you & Bugsy!
I'm so sorry to read this about Bugsy. I hope the surgery goes well, and you find out what the problem is, so Bugsy can feel better soon.
I'm glad you are able to schedule the surgery when you will be home. Continued vibes for our Bugsy.

Oh Carolina, I don't think anything hurts like the frustration of not really knowing how to help them.
Loads of good coming for Bugsy and for you.
I really hope that the bloods show something that can be sorted, and you can finally be at the bottom of all his tummy troubles.

Really quickly as I am extremely busy at work... My boss just approved 2 paid days off for me to tend to Bugsy after his surgery... This means he comes back Tuesday, I have Tuesday and Wednesday completely off, work Thursday and Friday at home, and have the weekend off again with him.
With it, came a note with best wishes on the surgery, and his understanding on how important he knows furry family is, especially when you don't have family around
Thanks for the vibes everyone!
