I Feel Stupid

I am totally addicted to this site but just figured out how to read my PMs. For any of you that sent one to me, please forgive me for not getting back to you. I will read them later and reply. Again, I'm sooooo sorry. If you ever need to e-mail me, please do so as I have changed my info so anyone from here can now e-mail me. Again, I'm sorry. I love all you guys. Thanks.

I always connect to the site by linking from my email. Then I go to the Lounge, usually. I often forget to go to the main Forum page, and that's where the PM notification is. I miss them sometimes too.

Darn!! I had a good one too.....

I have never checked them, don't know how to check them - did anyone ever PM me?

If you go to the main Forum page and scroll all the way to the bottom (just below where it says who's online), there is a section for PMs. It tells you if you have any.

Thanks Deb - now I am really depressed because I went to the PM's and I didn't have any!

Here's the best way not to miss PMs -

1. Go to your user control panel (the little button that says "user cp" at the top of the page).
2. There click where it says "edit options".
3. On the "edit options" page scroll down to where it says "Messaging & Notification".
4. The fifth line there asks you:"Send you an email when you receive a Private Message?". Just make sure it's checked as "yes".
5. Don't forget to "submit modifications" at the bottom of the page.

That's it! From now on, if anyone PMs you, you will get an email with a link to the message.

I found out the old-fashioned way, (trial and error). :jarswim:

Rene; Don't feel bad. I am one of the "Old-Timers" that the "kids" here get a kick out of and if I could figure it out; you will have no problems.

What I want to know is: is there a way to delete the message you are replying to (that appears in

mode at the top of your response) other than using the delete key one character at a time?

Also, are the character counts of said quote figured in to the total message length count???(which NEVER seems to be long enough and I have to go back and edit out some of what I want to say or send two messages in a row.)

I don't know how it works for the webtv, but I highlight the text I'm replying to with my mouse & then hit delete. If you are able to highlight text, that is the way to go.

Anne!!! Thank you for telling us that!!! I had no idea I could be notified by e-mail when I had a PM, and that would be SO great...because I constantly forget to check them!! But if i had e-mail notification....I wouldn't forget!!!! Thanks!!!!!

I was going to PM you but noticed you didn't have an address. I had a questions about Abbys barfing and whether it was the norm or is it something to be concerned about. Anyway it's a moot issue now. Glad to see you now have a PM address.
