Anyone Else Having Problems With FireFox Crashing?

I tried several times to open FF, but it keeps crashing so I had to resort to using IE. Is anyone else having problems with FF crashing?

No problems. You may have to download it again; it may have gotten corrupted.

In theory, if you download it and install it, it should keep all your settings.

I checked the FF website to see if others were also having problems, and some peeps were, too. One of them suggested uninstalling FF 4, and reinstalling FF 3.6 something, but I have no idea how to do that. It's still crashing: I'm having to use IE, which I really don't like doing.

no problems here - how's your memory? ah, I don't mean YOURS, but your computer - how old is your computer, what system do you have, how many other applications do you have open when you're in FF, and ...
what are you doing when FF crashes ???, how many tabs, or windows do you have active when it crashes, and, oh, -- have you asked FF tech support for help

I'm a Mac person - so can't help much with PC stuff - maybe FF needs to be updated ??

If I had to use IE, I'd be trying to resolve the issue with FF for sure!

I should have lots of memory: my computer is only about 3 years old. It's a Window XP.

I don't have any tabs, etc. open when it crashes: it crashes before it even opens. When it does, a box pops up with a crash report that you can submit to FF - which I did.

I didn't ask for tech support help: I just went on FF's website to see if any others were having problems. I wouldn't know what the heck they were telling me to do anyways, even if they did try to give me advice. I'm a computer dummy!

Yeah, I agree. IE sucks! I'm kinda lost using IE again: I'm missing all my bookmarks, and I have to double-check my spelling cuz IE doesn't have an automatic spell-check like FF does. And I can't use my cat theme!

The first link didn't help any. I think I'll give the live support thing a shot if it's still crashing tomorrow.

Thanks for trying to help!

Well, I think I now know why FF was crashing last night. This morning when I turned the computer on, I had two updates from Adobe: so I installed them, and now FF is working fine. I guess FF needed the updates installed in order to work properly again - at least that's my guess, anyway. I'm so glad it's working again! I hate using IE.

Just an FYI for anyone else who may be having problems with FF.

You don't need the adobe upgrades to run firefox. It was probably just a minor glitch in your computer that the restart fixed. It's happened to me before too. I'm glad it's working well again.

I suppose that's possible. As I've mentioned before, I'm certainly no computer geek, and just basically wing it on most things.
