There has been a stray hanging around our neighborhood for several weeks now, and the young man next door unofficially adopted it. This cat likes to hang out in our yard (driving OUR cats crazy), and everytime we go outside, it seems to crave affection, but I've been kind of afraid to pet it, etc. because it hadn't been to the Vet for a check-up and you just never know what diseases, etc. a stray might have.
So...DH told the neighbor that since he wanted to be able to pet and love-up the cat, HE would pay for a check-up and required shots, etc. The night before the scheduled visit, I took the trash out and the cat followed me to the trash can meowing all the way, and I looked closely at it and it seemed really fat in the tummy area, and I thought "oh no, I think she might be pregnant!)
Long story short, he's a neutered male
, and very healthy. Since he IS an outdoor cat now, he got a round of vacinnations, and now we feel free to give him all the loving he wants (of which he can't seem to get enough). By the way, he's a polydactal (sp?). Here's his picture... hope it does justice to those HUGE feet!!):
