Hello people of the forums.
I am a cat mommy once again! I used to have pet rats, but they aren't allowed at this house, but I am allowed a cat! I thought about it for a month after I moved in and decided I wanted a furry friend.
I bought all the kitty gear I would need (and my boss gave me the sifting catbox that she wasn't using anymore) and set it all up. I spent a couple of days looking over the BCSPCA website at all the kitties. There weren't many available and I was looking for a certain type. There ended up being four gentlemen that I wanted to look at.
I stopped at a pet supply store to grab a cat carrier and they happen to be a satellite adoption center and one of the guys on my list was there. His name was George and he was an adorable 8mos old manx guy. I petted him for a while, but went on to the main SPCA building to see everyone else.
Turns out, only one of the other guys on my list was still there. But it worked out for the best. I did end up playing with all 20 or so cats there, but none of them really warmed up to me. This guy though... he was awesome. Cuddles, and he put his front feet on my chest and he purred a lot. He was the one! His name (at the time) was Petey and he was a 4 year old short-haired black male. Just the type I wanted. I didn't feel bad about leaving George though. He was a kitten and would be adopted in no time.
I filled out the application and took him home the same day.
Here are some pictures and videos of him! His new name is Kevin!
It didn't take him long to make himself at home.
He likes being on my desk, even though he isn't allowed.
He's not too impressed with his rhinestone collar.
He loves my bed.
He likes laying on top of my projects. I make hammocks for rats.
Video the SPCA had of him.
Just after I brought him home.
Spotting a bird outside!
How he greets me when I get home.
Saving me from bugs.
Such a dork!
