INNOVA (Products by "NATURA") POLL

Thread Starter
I've been using Innova for years. Since Proctor and Gamble took over a year or so ago, they had promised (per my feed store) not to change any, anything for one year. Well, that year is up and now I have 3 or 4 cats throwing up regularly. (It used to just be my hyperthyroid girl once a week because of her disease), but now cats that have never thrown up, are throwing up.

My poll is, for those of you that use Innova, EVO, California Natural, Healthwise, Karma and Mother's something:

Are your Cats/ dogs starting to show signs of becoming sick (throwing up, diarrhea?)

1. Nothing has Changed yet.

2. Big Increase in vomiting and/or diarrhea lately

3. Slight Increase in vomiting or diarrhea lately

4. Yes, but also added another new food.

I will be keeping this poll open as long as I can (I hope there's a way to do that) so as time goes on and people keep using it they will see the difference. With 10 cats myself, I go through 2 16 pound bags of dry a month, so I'm noticing.

I've seen the new cans for Innova's new Low Fat Cat (what I usually get for Sadie). My vet apparently still gets the cans from Innova themselves (Natura's factory) because they are not the same cans as the ones I see in Petco. My g/f just bought some of the Innova from Petco so we will see what happens with her cats. I looked at the ingredients and I didn't see any noticeable change (I pretty much know what the ingredient list is on the low fat cat Innova wet food since I've fed it for awhile and researched it).

I haven't noticed a change in my cat, but then again, I still may be receiving Natura's products.

I have also fed Cali Natural recently and did not see a problem. I am sorry you are having issues with your felines!

I haven't been using Innova, b/c of the price & limited availability for me. Petco recently started carrying it, so I bought one can of each kind. I've tried the first can w/o issue.

I was using Innova Cat and Kitten food for my 16 cats and the five kittens I was fostering.  With the last set of cases of food I got, which had an expiration date of July 31, 2013, I noticed a marked increase in vomiting.  I usually have two cats who vomit regularly.  I was up to seven cats and kittens throwing up daily.  All of my adult cats ate a different dry food than the kittens' dry food, but everyone ate Innova Cat and Kitten wet food.  I took all the cats and kittens off of Innova and the vomiting is much better.  I'm in the market for a new brand of wet food.

It may not be in the ingredients changing (removing/adding things) but rather a change in the quality of the ingredients. That's usually what they do first before messing around with the actual formula.

If the packaging is changing, keep an eye on the ingredients for the next little while. P&G likes to change ingredients but hide it with new packaging when they take over something.

I stopped using Innova for my dog when his stools became consistantly runny on it. he is now on Acana Pacifica. I did pick up a bag of the Innova cat when it was on sale, and wasn't too pleased most of the kibble was crumbly and the cats didn't really like it. Don't know if I just got a bad bag or what. I'm not going to get it any time soon. Such a shame as it was a good food at a good price.
