An important reminder to our members: Should you encounter obvious or suspected trolls, spam or problematic posts, please click on this icon  at the lower left of the post in question, as doing so will send an immediate report to all moderators and administrators.

A PM report will only reach the mod to whom it is addressed and can only be dealt with after that particular moderator has gone online and read the PM.

Thank you for your attention and help in keeping TCS a pleasant site for all members and visitors.

Thanks for the advice, I was not sure how to report a "troll" and never heard of the term used on TCS until one came on about a couple of weeks ago and someone told me to stop posting to this person because they were a troll. I realized it quickly when they posted a picture of a black panther as the cat they were referring too
. Now I know

I'm so glad we have this ability here!! It certainly does help keep TCS a safe and happy place to be! I have had to use it here a couple times; but there are SOOOO many times on other forums I've been on that I wished I could report people like that!!

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the posts had to have a spammy link in them to be able to be reported, or if they could just be fishy or weird and out-of-context. I had to laugh at this morning's post about beans. "Well..."

It never hurts to report a post. We see each report, and we do discuss it, so you're not getting anyone in trouble (unless they deserve to be
).

Here is an idea: I am part of another forum (jcat, you know the one
)... In there, they have a New member policy:
They have a New Member's Forum:
0 to 5 posts:
Members are restricted to posting in the New Members Forum only, can not use Private Messaging, and can not have a signature. 0-5 posts, they can't post a thread either, only post a response to other posts.

5 to 15 posts:
Members can post in other forums and use Private Messaging. Now they can finally post threads on the new member's forum only.

15 posts and above:
Members can post in all forums, and can now have a signature. Threads on all forums.

Yet frustrating to new members, this gives mods some time to catch spammers. I am yet to see a spammer in there - I am sure it happens, but I think a lot gets caught soon, since the attention now is derected to the new member's forum....
Anyways, just an idea.....

Hey everybody!! I just received a PM that says, "I'm the spammer and here's my reasons why..."
Needless to say I didn't open the message. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm going to contact a mod and let them know, BUT isn't that weird? Why don't these people get a LIFE?????

In the future, you can forward a problem PM to one of the mods.
