We are thinking of switching to the triple play bundle they've been advertising, $33 each for phone, cable, and internet. I've been trying to find someone who has the digital phone service to see what they think of it and only found one person so far. So, if anyone has their phone through TWC, do you like it? Does it work okay? We have until April 30 before the deal expires.

Sorry can't report experience - although the bundle looks very tempting - I think I've heard some negative stuff

here's one link I found after I googled: http://www.viewpoints.com/Time-Warne...ervice-reviews

Pros
service reps speak english (9) unlimited long distance (8) bundled services (8) serviced reps answer phone (4) none (3) good tech help (3) tech's are friendly (1) i'm thinking (1) good quality service (1) rep who came to hse today (1)
Cons
terrible customer service (12) no power no phone (9) lame excuses (8) lazy and dont care (6) lies (5) false promises (4) scrambled picture (4) no picture (2) bad customer service policies (2) charge for messages (1)
Just a story about a lesson I learned many years ago.
We bought a brand new stereo, TV, record player (yes a very long time ago).

Turns out that everything was connected to the same key elements - so when one thing went out in the main system we didn't have access to ANY of the other things. Now we buy everything separate so if one thing goes out, we can still use the others until the broken one is fixed or replaced. I imagine it might be the same way with all these bundle things today, but, maybe not. ??

The link above does talk about a lot of down time - and when TW is down, they have no phone, either. At least with the phone company (and a phone that doesn't run on electricity - like the handheld) if the electric goes out, I can still call out.

Well, that's my 2 cents - I only added it after I saw no one else has offered information about the experience that he/she has had.

Thanks! I've seen the negative reviews, and we have some concerns. That's why I thought I'd post up here to see if I could find someone with actual experience.

Right now I have Time Warner Cable and haven't really had problems with it going out. I also haven't had any problems when I have had to call them about something, but that was just for cable.

I have a friend who has Cable and Road Runner and hasn't had problems, and another friend who has all three and hasn't had problems. Except, as you say, when the power goes out so does the phone. However, our current land line phone (with AT&T) also goes out when the power goes out. Not right away, but soon thereafter. DH says that's because we are on a remote switch (he used to work for AT&T). I'm happy enough with the current arrangement, except two things (1) We on a special deal with TWC and the price will be going up soon, and (2) every bill I get from AT&T is a few dollars more. The same thing happened before I rebundled (we have landline phone and DSL through them). Was told it would be something like $75 and now its up to $95 last month. When I rebundled, it had gotten up to $115! We were figuring if we could get the TWC deal of $99 for a year (actually it would $118because we have a second TV), we could save a little money and then re-evaluate at the end of the year. However, if the phone service is as bad as the reviews I'm seeing, I'm hesitant to switch.

We can also get bundles with Cable and Road Runner, cost a little more, but I figure if I unbundle with AT&T what we are paying for unlimited local and long distance will go up. I need to call them about that one. Also, we wouldn't get the free installation if we don't bundle all three.

Life has gotten to be so complicated

I think I will call and ask them about this one, if one is down you can't use the other two. That would definitely be a deal breaker.

I have the TV/Internet/Phone bundle with Charter Cable. Charter has as dubious a reputation as Time Warner. I had issues the first year (my phone sounded like I was talking under water) but Charter did some work on a substation, and I haven't had any problems since...I've had the bundle for about 4 years or so now. There have been occasional outages of cable TV, or voice mail phone issues, but all have been temporary, and none of them have happened simultaneously. For the most part, I've been happy with the service...they just keep creeping the price up on me....that's what tweaks me off.

I have the 3 bundle deal and have had it for a few years.. I have had no problems at all. I love it. never have a problem with the phone. If by chance the phone is out so is the internet but usually the cable stays on. This rarely happens only due to severe weather,During the winter months downed power lines ect due to storms.
Their customer service /help line is excellant...The price they are offering is a very good deal. I don't qualify I pay $175.00 a month!!

We don't have that in our area; but we have basically the same thing through comcast. Sometimes I will have to reset my modem but basically I like our service. We have had it go out a few times; but usually the TV stays on. And if the cable is out it doesn't mean I loose phone/internet.

I like that I can check my voicemails from my e-mail account with this too.

As for Time Warner I know my Dad has their service; but I can't comment on it myself.

I have TWC but won't get the phone service due to the horrid internet and tv service we get.

I would not be comfortable not having phone service when the electric is out that is why we still have a cheapo land line.

I have Timewarner internet and cable. I have only had very occasional outages with the internet which if I had a phone would mean I would have no phone. I do know a few people in the Columbus area who dropped them for all service because of excessive outages. I think certain areas, even within the Columbus area, have more problems with outages than others. Maybe you would get a better idea if you could find some of their customers especially internet customers in your area.
