Shipping a cat coast to coast

I am a cat owner with a large mixed-breed longhair cat. I am going from west coast to East coast with her and another cat. The other cat is a small DSH calico so she can probably fit under the seat on the plane. The big cat will be a tight fit. I don't think she's a snub nose - the airline told me to get a note from the vet. Her nose is broad but not a snub. If she's a snub nose I can't ship her. Her photo is at

So to be safe I wondered about ground shipping. Are there any good reliable services?

Last time I shipped cats was simpler!

When they say snub nose, they're talking about the Persian types.

You should be fine with the long hair cat - but that cat WiLL need to fly in cargo as you only can take one cat with you (per person). If you are flying alone with 2 cats, one can ride in cabin, one in cargo.

Cats needs a vet ok slip for shipping no later then 10 days prior to the flight. I'd have all vet shot records with you just in case.

I would NOT ground ship any of the cats - that's the same as traveling in the car and if you ground ship, why not just get in the car. For a coast to coast trip its much better to fly every one there - much less stress.

Do NOT use seditives even if a vet says its ok - cats have negative reactions and if you drug the cat for flight, you can have serious problems. I've flown with cats and shipped cats with no problems.
