Hey, guys, just wanted to request some trapping vibes for a new addition to my feral colony. Since I've been seeing this fellow (pretty sure he's male by his features) during the middle of the day, suspect he's a scared stray that wandered into the colony or was dumped (it's happened way too many times before). He's a Siamese mix and, I got close enough to him yesterday before he bolted to see that he has blue eyes. Poor guy's pretty skinny and looks like he's badly in need of some TLC.

The neighborhood's pretty quiet at lunch, so am going to try setting the traps today and again tomorrow morning. Have to trap based on my work schedule and the spay/neuter clinic's schedule for dropping off ferals (or any cat in a trap). If I don't get him today or tomorrow, will try again next week.

Please send vibes that I can get ahold of this guy and get him the care he needs. Thanks!

Thanks, guys. Turns out, I didn't neet to trap him. He still needs major vibes, though.

When I went to feed the colony yesterday, the kitty (now named Sinatra because of those blue eyes), was in one of the shelters, lethargic and having difficulty breathing. I wrapped him in a towel, got him in a carrier and rushed him to the vet. He's a young guy, only about 2-years-old. Has a severe URI and stomatitis. Unfortunately, he tested positive for feline leukemia. If he'd been a true feral, we would have euthanized him right away, but aside from growling a few times during the course of the vet exam and being given fluids, he was pretty calm. Of course, he's not feeling well, so that might account for his behavior too.

Sinatra is now in a fellow rescuer's garage. We're going to see how he responds to the antibiotics over the next couple of days, try to get a better feel for his personality and go from there. The rescue I work with can't house FeLV cats, but there is a local shelter that does take them, which may be an option for this guy if he's tame. We haven't ruled out the possibility of having him PTS, but feel very strongly about giving him a chance.

Please send vibes for this beautiful boy and that we can do right by him. Thanks!

Sinatra was euthanized this afternoon at the rescue. Have asked a mod to close this thread and will post in Crossing the Bridge.
