Fleas

Baylen has an allergic reaction to fleas. I think Bobby brought them home.

She got a steroid shot, antibiotics and a flea treatment.

What can I use around the house to get rid of them that is non-toxic to my babies? I have all hardwood floors so floor carpet is not an issue. The carpet on the cat condos is.

Get some food grade Diatomaceous Earth from a feed store or nursery (you can get it online as well) and sprinkle that on your cat condos and rub it down into the fibres. Diatomaceous Earth is like a fine white powder to us humans and mammals but is ground diatoms (a crustacean) and is like sharp shards of glass to insects which cuts their exoskeleton and kills them. It is perfectly safe and the only thing that would happen if a pet ingested it would be that the DE would kill any internal parasites the pet may have - that's a good thing.

Thank you for the info. I have searched about it and have found good reviews on it.

How do I find a reputable dealer of DE?

Food grade DE is probably easiest to find online. Make sure it's food-grade, not for pools.

I have heard good things about Fleabuster and it is supposed to be natural. I have never used it myself, but would not hesitate to try if fleas became an issue.
