Goodbye Billy! :(

This weekend I had to send my sweet horse Billy to the Rainbow Bridge. His poor body was giving out on him and I did not want to cause him any pain or suffering. He got his favorite treats and went peacefully when it was time. He was such a good boy and he had many wonderful years. It is so hard to say goodbye to an old dear friend.
RIP Billy, I love you very much!

I'm so sorry for your loss of your Beloved Billy. How wonderful of you to give him that final gift of love, freedom from suffering.

How old was Billy?

I am so sorry for the loss of Billy. After almost 40 years, I still miss my horse, Sandy.

That bond with a horse is so strong.

RIP Billy...those green pastures are just made for running, rolling and feasting on.

Enjoy your freedom, dear boy. Happy trails.

Thank You all for the thoughts!
Knowing that I did the right thing helps but I still miss him!
He had 30 years of a good life, almost half of which I had the pleasure of being his mom!
He was a kind gentle boy!
Hopefully his legacy will continue with my other horses in time.

I am a horse lover too and it is especially hard to see our majestic and stoic horses become I'll. So sorry for you losing Billy. RIPBilly

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
Billy lived a long happy life because of you.
I still think about my horse "Felicity" who I loved
and adored.
That is really tough. You are in my prayers.
