Wed night Jingles butt exploded. It was loud and could be heard from rooms away. She had diarrhea. Thurs morning it was the same thing so I took her in the vet Thurs night (another diarrhea poop during Thurs during the day too). They took her temp (normal) and gave her fluid under the skin to make sure she wasn't dehydrated. He gave me some cans of Science Diet ID and said it's a bland diet which is what she needs. After the diarrhea was gone I was supposed to reintroduce her to her blue mountain dry food slowly. Oh, and he gave me probiotic pills to sprinkle over her food twice a day for 10 days. I also have to take a stool sample in to be checked for parasites.
I gave Jingles the can food Thurs night and she wouldn't touch it. It sat there till Fri morning w/ out one nibble. She was begging for food so I gave her the usual dry food. She ate it.
Here it is Sunday morning and she still has diarrhea loose poops. They don't explode out of her butt anymore, but it's still diarrhea. I've been giving her the regular dry food cause she won't eat the can food from the vet. I did try mixing some dry w/ the can stuff. One bite. No more. She does eat her dry w/ the probiotic sprinkled on, so that's not holding her back.
Any suggestions?
Jingles is about 1yr old. She was adopted in late Dec 2010 from a shelter. She's had all her checkups w/ the vet since we adopted her and is fixed. Wanted to add that just in case it's helpful.
