Absolutely. Just had my GYN appt last week. I have to call for my mammogram now.

I have a reg dr appt at the beginning of May. With blood work one week ahead of the appt. The blood work is to check cholestrol, sugar, etc.

I hate, really hate my reg dr appt. All she does is complain to me about my weight. I think she would like me to look stick-thin sometimes. She wants me at around 125 pounds; I think I look better at 135. We compromised on 130 pounds, but as I get older I'm having trouble staying at 130. And it's more work/exercise than it used to be. I have found myself straying upwards to about 138, esp since that darn knee op.

And when I go to the appt, all she does is say, "Well, you're OK at (whatever the weight is), but you really should get down to 125." Um, no, I shouldn't. I'm 56 years old! And at that age, I can't weigh 125....I'd look like a walking skeleton. It's an ongoing thing now for about 6 years or so and I hate going to the dr.

What really fries my chicken is that my dr is a roly-poly short woman. She's got a lot of guts telling me about my weight.

Anyway, I kind of hijacked the thread....my apologies. Yes, I do have my yearly appts. It's important. GY annually, reg dr twice a year, dentist twice a year and eye doctor annually.

A check up? No. I usually end up at the doctor for some reason or another. I'm currently getting B12 shots and soon to try to get something done for my ANS issues so I'm seeing doctors quite frequenty.

Since I'm on a couple of meds, I have to go every 3 months for blood work and every 6 months to my oncologist. Autumn goes once a year tho

I can't imagine how wonderful that is. We are in debt and only due to medical bills.

Only when I have to. But I do see my Rheumatologist every 4 to 6 months and do lab work every 4 months.

I have enough to worry about without looking for any more problems.

I go yearly for physical. They check blood, mammogram, pap test, the usual for women. The doctor rides me about my cholesterol and says I should take the meds. My sister's runs about the same as mine. She goes to a different doctors who never mentions the cholesterol meds to her. So I dread sparring with my doctor about that issue every year. Also, she tries to send me ever year or two years for bone density studies. They say my bones are thinning and she tries to get me on the bisphosphonates for that. I tried those meds, the Fosamax, Actonel, etc. and none of them did anything that showed the density had improved. Sorry if I hijacked the thread. It is just kind of a sore subject with me about doctors. I don't trust them.
