New foster kitty!!

I've been out of the fostering business for awhile now. Kinda happens when you keep fostering cats that aren't very adoptable & end up keeping them

Couldn't say no to this girl - once healthy she'll be VERY adoptable!

I *think* her name is Sophie. Pure Himalayan. Spayed & front declawed, very loving/friendly. VERY matted - I'm going to take pics of her (as many as I can while she's fluffy) & then set at her with my clippers. She has sores from the mats tearing @ her skin. I can't get her to a groomer until Wed (no openings w/ anyone who does cats anywhere!) & I can't make her wait that long.

Here's Sophie in her new digs, hanging out on my toilet

Oh, the poor sweetie!

She's in just the right place. I bet she doesn't even know how lucky she is to have you for a foster meowmy...yet. But she will.

Sophie is so lucky to have you. She will feel so much better once those mats are all gone. You will have to post the after pics too

So far we're 2.5 hours into 'de-matting', I've been using a tangle remover spray & working out any I can & cutting out the others. Trying to keep as much of her hair as possible. She's *so* docile & sweet!

Before the hair fixing process began, I took pics of her for Petfinder so when she goes on she has pics where her hair looks decent (it's patchy now). Ultimately I may end up having her shaved, but would like to avoid it.

Hairy belly (and some sores on her chin where mats ripped out)

Blue eyes

Pretty kitty

Taking a bath

Rolling around to play!

She is a pretty girl. I am sure she will feel much better when those matts are off of her. I once clipped a neighbours cat when it was visiting me on my back deck. He was so matted. She said one day. I think someone cut my cats hair. he has bald patches. I never did tell her it was me. I just couldnt' help myself

I've removed mats on some of the cats at the shelter. Some of them hate it; I've seen some purr and just consider it more attention.

She looks like she has a lot of character, with her crossed eyes and all.

She is stunning!! And she's lucky to have you fostering her! As pretty as she is, I don't expect she will have a problem finding just the right forever home!

More pictures of her. She finally used the litterbox instead of going on the floor! She likes to be up/on things, so I'm working on getting her higher up surfaces in which to sleep. Feeling better, much more needy & outgoing.

See the sore behind her ear?

OMG, she is GORGEOUS!!!!! She almost makes me think that a blue point kitty would fit in so well in my pointed household. I'm sure she is feeling so much better now that you've cleaned her up.

Actually, her URI has returned with a vengance. She's sounding fairly congested, and she does has some mild nasal discharge. I'm waiting to hear back from the vet on what to do next - she has had 11 days of antibiotics, so this shouldn't be happening. She hasn't eaten wet food the last 2 days (been eating her dry food well), but I finally got her to eat a decent amount of wet last night.

Oh yeah & she is NOT impressed when Lola slips in the room w/ her - as Lola thinks she is a walking cat toy!

Vibes for Sophie to feel better soon.
