These poor little ones never had a chance

I am so angry. Milkmaid just drew my attention to a post in another forum asking for help with some 8 day old orphan kittens whose mother has disappeared. I phoned and waas told that the momcat vanished 5 days ago and since then the kittens have had no nourishment whatever but were left in their basket in the hope that mom would return. When the owner finally went to look at them yesterday she discovered all four were still attached to the cord and that two of them were dead. She cut the cord on the survivors and gave them warm cows milk and water. Their eyes, though of course still closed, were seeping pus. This morning all were dead. She told me that she was quite glad because 'she didn't want any more cats'. I asked why the mom had not been spayed and she said she had not got round to it, but went on to say the mom was the last survivor of a litter last year. Then she astounded me by saying she had raised lots of orphan kittens and had worked for the animal refuge about 30 miles south of here! Words fail me.

Poor little ones - Lord knows what they went through. And I hope the momcat is alive and finds a better home.

Just disgusting.

Such precious little lives, left to the "mercy"? of this woman.

God bless their little hearts and the momma kitty.

Thank you for bringing their story to us. This way, they are known, mourned and loved.

How can somebody just leave innocent little creatures to die like that?
RIP, babies.

Sometimes I think people can be so heartless. Rest in peace little kittens. We love you and are sorry you suffered.

That is just terribly abusive and heartless to have just left those babies like that. I can't fathom that and don't have words. RIP little kittens

Prayers for those sweet, defenseless, precious babies.

I won't even get started on what I think of that woman.

I can't believe she said she was glad because she didn't want more cats.
I couldn't imagine not checking on the poor kittens all along, instead of just checking in on them once or twice. RIP little babies.

Oh good grief, what's wrong with mankind to let something like that happen

RIP babies
