Did I get scammed on Feliway product?

I recently bought a Feliway diffuser from an online store and I'm wondering if I got scammed or if the product was falsely advertised.

The product description indicated that I would get the Feliway diffuser and a refill for only $19.99. So I took this to mean that I would get the plastic plugin part and two bottles of Feliway. When I got it, there was only the plastic plugin and one bottle. The Feliway box was only big enough for one bottle. I'm inclined to think the ad was described poorly rather than the store was trying to scam me. I don't want to say what store it is, but it is reputable. Since I don't want to have to return it, they gave me a partial refund of $4.00.

I was wondering what you all think about this. I know that some stores sell the Feliway diffuser (which includes the bottle) for around $30-$35. So no matter what, I think I got a good deal. I just want to get an opinion on whether the description was misleading and I was only supposed to get the one bottle or whether I actually was supposed to get two bottles.

Once again, here's what the description said: Feliway Plugin Diffuser with refill. Product contains one 48 milliliter refill.

Thoughts?

from this:

Feliway Plugin Diffuser with refill. Product contains one 48 milliliter refill.

I would take it to be the plug in and 1 actual liquid part. I have never used feliway or looked into it but have heard of ppl using it.

Are you saying that there was not a bottle already in the in the plug in part?

I would read it as---------bottle already in plug in part AND a bottle to be used as a refill. SOOOOOOOOOOOO it should have 2 bottles.

For the price I would be wondering more about whether it really is Feliway or a watered down version of same.

I'm one of those who believe that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true.

^You don't believe that prices of products are sometimes nearly doubled on the retail end?
If so you'd certainly think OEM computer parts are fakes with the difference in price to their retail versions (pretty box made to sit on a store shelf) sometimes being quite a bit.

To me the description is quite clear. You get the plug in itself and one refill - not two refills. The price even suggests that with you mostly paying the cost of the refill since the actual cost to make the plug in isn't very much.

Agree! And you really dont want to know about the mark up in jewelry!

I ordered a plug in from an online store that had the same description and came the same. At first I thought the same, but when I reread it I under stood what they meant.

Or HDMI cables for that matter... I chuckle every time I'm at a retail store and they are $40. Bose speakers, Apple products, and Monster cables are on my "too high a markup" list heh. I subscribe to slickdeals.net though, and "too good to be true" happens all the time online (just got a $220 Lowes ladder for $107 last night woohoo).

The description is technically accurate, however, its pretty much universally accepted that when you buy a product, its already filled. "Refill" is also usually considered supplemental to refill it upon depletion. If something was advertised as "a medium soda cup plus one free refill", most would expect to drink the medium soda and get a refill.

If they said "contains feliway difuser and one feliway plugin bottle" for example, then there wouldn't be any question.

I probably ordered the same item, possibly from the same store.

I paid just under $19 for it. I read the description as a plug-in and ONE refill. Either way, I felt I saved because I just wanted to try it for one of my cats for the first time so I didn't want to shell out a lot of money first time around.

They shouldn't call it a refill. Other than that, I don't think anything was wrong here, the description is accurate if a bit confusing.

Nope, if it's being called a refill, that clearly implies that there has already been a "fill." They should have sent you the plug-in with one bottle (the fill), plus a second bottle (the refill).

You should print out this thread and send it to 'em!

When I ordered it, I had doubts that I would actually get two bottles. The description for it should be worded better because it's misleading. I'm not gonna complain though because it's still a really good deal. Let's just hope that it helps the poor kitties with their stress.

Was the "refill" already inside the plug in or was it separate in the package? If separate they sold you a refill (per packaging) container of the feliway.

I got mine yesterday. It was boxed with plug-in and fill in the same box but not together.

For less than $18, I cannot complain. But even the vet didn't have high hopes it'd help Lola so I'm just hoping it eventually will.
