blood in urine

we've had a reoccuring problem in our 2 year old female with a UTI... it comes, it goes, it comes back, it goes away, etc...well, after a nice long 'clean' period... it's BA-ACK! Only this time, there's quite a bit of blood in her urine, and she's going to the box a lot more often. My boss and vet is on vacation this week, so we're wondering if we should take her in to our old vet to have her checked out, or hope for the best and let things run their course? She's on a pure diet of feline C/D-S (though we've been giving her a bit of grocery store urinary-tract-certified-happy-vet-approved canned food, 'cause we ran out of the prescription wet food. She also eats mostly dry food.)

I'm really not sure what to tell you. If she is on the prescription food, then this shouldn't keep reoccuring. I would take the cat to the vet. If there is blood there, then it needs to be taken care of.

Absolutely take Kitty to the vet. She may have an obstruction. My male kitty had that and after he finally got well(after $$$vet bills) I still feed him the special dry and canned (commercial, non prescription)cat food I always have dry food out for them, and feed them canned twice a day--and I will NEVER feed them any dry food not formulated for the urinary tract problems again.

I think she is a candidate for FLUTD and she might need the surgery to stop it from happening. I would take her to the vet asap.

yes take her to the vet, dont wait, uti can lead to serious problems, i hope she gets better, keep us updated
