Cat pooping outside the litter box since I moved

Hello, Since I moved in December my cat Jessie has been pooping in and outside of the litter box. Pee is always in the box, but the poop is mostly in the box but occasionally on clothes if left laying around, either bed, or plastic bags and today on a sofa.

I took her to the vet since she was also having trouble keeping food down and after a blood test and blood work being done the Vet determined that the cat had a minor infection and I have been giving her antibiotics and medication since last Monday. The good news is she is keeping food down and gaining weight, but unfortunately the problem outside the litter box continues.

I am assuming the litter is right since its the same brand I have been using for 10 years and she still pees in there and does poop some in there as well, and I keep the box clean. Any suggestions on what may be causing this a what I can do to take care of it?

Hi there welcome along to TCS

It could still be the stress of moving or it could be that she has decided now she wants to poop and pee in different litter box's

I dont have a lot of experience on this problem but im sure there will be someone with more experence to help you

A little more info, today I caught her starting to try again to poop on the couch. I told the cat no in a firm voice then grabbed her and put her right in front of the litter box , and she went in and did her business there.

My cat did that when we moved. She faithfully used the box, to a fault (as in standing on the edge of the box to use it if she needed to go and it was too dirty), so I knew she was trying to tell my something wasn't right with her. We talked to the vet and he diagnosed her with stress induced fecal incontinence. Meaning that because she was so stressed that she would poop inappropriately. We got feliway diffusers and plugged them in and the inappropriate pooping stopped in a few days.

Well it turns out Jessie does have some kind of health issue which is causing it. Even after a visit to the yet 2 weeks ago, on Wed last week it got much worse and she soiled outside of the litter box multiple times including in some of her favorite spots. Not to mention I noticed she was acting differently then normal.

She was already under weight before from the last visit to the Vet, she Weighed 5.6 pounds and around 8-9 is her normal weight. When I was able to get her to the Vet yesterday she weighed 4.2 pounds meaning she lost over 1 pound in two weeks

We did a stool sample test and nothing alarming was found, and we changed antibiotics and added a couple of other meds for her digestive system, and a IV bag of saline solution to get her hydrated again. Keep your fingers crossed she can pull through.
