Hello all. I have a little problem. My Kuki seems to have allergies. He has the following symptoms:
Sneezing occasionally - although it has gotten better
But mainly itching and scratching at his neck, head and ears.
His skin is a little pinker than usual
He is missing hair on his neck
This started about a month ago. I thought it was nothing at first. I was in the process of moving so i thought maybe it was stress. However, he seems to have settled in and is still scratching his life away. I feel terrible! I haven't been able to take him to a vet because my work schedule has been horrific with tax season (i'm an accountant).
I bought him some dermaquin that supposedly is good for:
Omega-3 fatty acids help support the following areas: Skin and coat
Kidney health
Brain health
Immune system function
I must admit his allergies have gotten better since he has been taking the pills with his dinner but I would like to know if there is anything else i can do for him. I bought a spray to help soothe the scratching and it seems to work as he is now laying on the floor relaxing.
I will be calling my vet tomorrow to schedule a visit. I'm guessing he will give him some type of cortisone shot. My mom's dog has allergies and usually when it gets really bad she takes him in for a shot.
My little guy clearly has immune issues as he also has a mild case of stomatitis. What can i possibly do or give him to make his life better?
Thanks in advance
