Morning all, AJ is away and she has asked me to fill in for her. I hope she is having a fab time,
So todays question keeping in with the holiday theme is
Where are you going on holiday this year??
We aren't going away this year as we can't afford it, I want to get myself driving and also we are doing a lot to the garden so we can hopefully enjoy the summer in a lovely garden.xx

A cruise around the Med in Sept, and one which l don't want to go on now after the cats have been poorly. Hopefully i'll be feeling more optimistic by then, but after this one i'm done on going abroad and just having weekends away

Unfortunately too many holidays or mini holidays for me. I went away for 5 days to a tourist destination in February and then away the following weekend for my boyfriend's cousins' 21st. I spent a couple of days away at the end of March in the South Island for a cat show. I've got about 7 or 8, more, 2 or more days before the end of the year and I'm going to Australia in May. No more holidays for me this year...Woah Nellie.

I suppose I will be driving to visits my sister sometime this year. I was thinking July but it will be hot where she lives. Early June to southern part of Wisconsin to do some plant buying. Perhaps Chicago to visit a neice and her family in August.

Much of my plans revolve around by gardens!

We're not sure yet. My sister and I were talking about going on a winery tour up around the Finger Lakes area in August. There are lots of antique shops in that area, too, so we could spend some time perusing shops as well. I don't know if we'll make it or not. DH and my BIL told us to figure it out...they'll come along for the ride.

DH and I always go to CT in the fall to visit with one of my best GFs and to pick apples. That's my down time vacation and it's probably the most fun I have throughout the year.

Believe it or not, I've never actually been to one! Maybe I'll meet you there!

We want to go somewhere tropical...still not 100% sure where yet. Looking into options.

We always go camping all over in the summer though.

There's no place like home
DH and I are talking about doing something that we've wanted to do most of our lives: Do the rim-to-rim-to-rim hike through the Grand Canyon. What this means is that you start hiking down from the north rim of the canyon and hike to the south rim, then turn around and hike back to the north rim. To do it right, it takes about 3 days to go each way, and you camp out under the stars along the way. Some people do a one way hike in a day, but we don't want to rush it.

I can only do this because, since I've taken a job where I'm on my feet all day, I can easily walk for 8 hours at a time. I'm finally in good enough physical shape to actually do it.

Russ and I haven't made any definite plans yet. We will be going to his shore home quite often, maybe even spend a week there. We also go there sporadically during the week. I love spending time down the shore. We are also thinking of going to St. Louis to see our Cardinals play ball. If we go, we will drive cuz I'm not getting on a plane. We shall see when the time nears. I'm retired so I don't have to worry about vacation time, I'm on vacation every day

Lol, for a second there I thought I had lost track of time and it's Christmas
it must be because we refer to holidays as vacations more often in the US, and then the holidays are like christmas/thanksgiving etc...I dunno just not used to using the term holiday for summer vacations for some reason.

I was going to go to Hawaii with two friends but the timing was bad, they are going may 7th-16th and I'm going to Bulgaria on the 17th...
Well the trip to Bulgaria is a holiday to me, but I still would have loved to go to Hawaii also..
But, there is no way I'm going from one 10+ hour flight right on to another flying to opposite ends of the globe, it would be too exhausting.

We're not going anywhere. Unless someone else wants to fund it.

No plans for Easter, but in June, me and some friends are having our annual camping trip, and then in July, my whole family is meeting in BC and renting a couple houseboats for a week.
