For those of you who still wanted to try the Microsoft GIF Animator and weren't able to see the proper page, I've changed the link, (again). You can download it at this web site: http://www.freewareweb.com/ Enter "micorsoft gif animator" in the "Site Search" box and you will see the program description. Follow the download links.
I couldn't find a link for it at Microsoft because it seems like they are phasing it out of freeware status by including it with a sold program. Get it while you can because it's free, only 1MB and it's a piece of cake to use.

hmmmm it's not working for me, a pop up message said stop stealing our links and wouldn't finish downloading. Anyone else having this problem? I'll keep piddling around with it.

Yes, the old link did that, but I edited my first post to go to the home page of softnews.ro as well as the last post. Both links work for me and take me to the home page of softnews now, but the download link for GIF Animator says it's been overloaded. Sorry.
I'll see if I can find a better link.
