Meet Maggie, our darling grand-dog. These were taken with my cell phone because I left my camera at work.
She's a big girl. She is really overweight and that's DS's fault for not exercising her like a big dog needs to be exercised. We've been trying to get her outside and she enjoys being outside. I even had her running out in the back yard for awhile this morning. But she tires easily and that's b/c of her weight.
But she's such a lovebug. I'm going to miss her so much.
She's been a sweetie. She loves to be brushed out and I've been brushing her every other day. We play with the ball; we throw it and she goes racing after it. She'll bring it back, but we have to wrestle with her to drop it....I think she even enjoys that.
DS said she probably wouldn't eat for a couple of days as that's how she acts with his in-laws. But she's been comfortable with us from the first day. She knows she can go anywhere in the house and she just likes to be with us.
I think her paw-chewing is more of a neurotic habit than anything. She tried to chew it once, we said "No" and that was that. She's not really been alone, nor has she been crated. We've not shut her up in any room; she has free rein to go where she wishes....she stays right with us. Right now, she's lying by my feet here in the computer room. I think, if we kept her, the first thing I'd do is get her a good clipping.....she needs to be free of some of that fur.
The cats are doing much, much better, too, although Mollipop now gets fed on the kitchen table as that's where she prefers to eat. That's OK. But last night? Amber was even out in the living room, playing with the turbo toy! And Maggie was about a foot away! Amber didn't care; she was playing and that was that.
It's so cute in the morning. I'm trying to get the kids' breakfast ready for them. Not only are there four cats on the floor (Molli's on the table and Amber's sitting on the chair), but Maggie is right there, waiting for her breakfast, too.
And have I mentioned how much that girl is going to be missed???
I think I'll be shedding a few tears tomorrow morning.
Thanks for looking!
