Huge, mega vibes needed

I know the power of all your vibes and this doggie needs it.

Additional information about Sugar Ray comes from APL staff. The veterinarian who first examined and treated Sugar Ray is a bit more explicit about his initial evaluation and did not claim as was earlier reported that other than starvation the dog was in an acceptable state of health. Instead, the veterinarian indicated that the dogs vital were not as bad as they expected and that recovery was possible. What "possible" means is that Sugar Ray had not had not yet gone into organ failure. Drawing blood was not possible because his veins were collapsed.

A closer examination of Sugar Ray may indicate that he is younger than 2 to 3 years old. It is difficult at this juncture to be more specific.

The next few days can still go either way. If organ failure is indicated, that will be a very bad sign. It is believed that he was found in the nick of time. Once stabilized,he will most likely be transferred to foster care for his lengthy recovery.

I know you all have the power of vibes and if you could send some his way...please.

Oh that POOR baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEGA for that BEAUTIFUL boy whose eyes are bright and so full of hope!

What's the back story?

He looks like a baby cow, poor pup.

For some reason he reminds me of a foster that I had for quite some time. Mine's name was Deuce, he's an English bulldog. When he came into rescue he was skin and bones, he was a surrender from a puppymill where he was being used as a stud - even though he had a heart problem.

Here's a picture of my Deuce AFTER I had fattened him up a bit, this was about 2 weeks after I first got him.

These stories are one of the reasons that I had to get out of rescue for awhile (I've been out for about 8 months now). I was burning myself out and getting over my head with my own dogs, the fosters, working full time and not having any help (before Mike came along, he helped a lot with the last few).

I hope they catch the person that did this to him and that he makes a full recovery, ending up in a wonderful home.

We have raised almost $60.00 so far for him and we are going to continue for another couple weeks.

He is at the vet I take my animals to so he is in very good hands.

His eyes are all full of hope so I pray he will be ok.

Please keep the vibes for him coming.

Everytime I ask for donations for him I almost cry.

All the vibes are working!!

Here is the latest update on him:

Thank you all for your patience. Here is the latest on Sugar Ray’s recovery.

The veterinarian indicates that Sugar Ray is doing pretty well at this point. He is eating eagerly the small but frequent feedings he is given. He has gained some weight. His excretory functions are now up and running. His body temperature has improved. He does NOT have non-regenerative anemia and his blood cells ARE regenerating. Sugar Ray also has started wagging his tail and back end just a little!

At this point the doctor is “less cautious and more optimistic.â€

Again, a reminder that this process is going to be a long one. We appreciate everyone’s interest in his condition and interest in adoption. It is way too early for that, however.
