Goodbye beautiful gander

Thread Starter
The gander and mama raise their babies in our yard at the pond every year. Babies were hatched out and the family was in the yard the day before yesterday. There were five babies. Yesterday morning only mama and the babies were there. Gander's feathers were in the field with coyote tracks.
He made the ultimate sacrifice protecting his family. Rest in peace beautiful gander. You died a noble death.

Oh no...I hate to hear that.

This is a rough time of year for the animals. Geese and ducks and their babies.

Darn those coyotes. I know it is nature, but I still get so upset.

Yes, RIP brave boy. And may God protect your family in your place.

I know it is natural for these things to take place in the food chain of wild animals, but it is hard to take and I get upset over it too. What a brave little gander
