Back in Okinawa and missing Aya already

I arrived back in okinawa to do the last 3 and 1/2 mos on my teaching contract late last night after 22hours of airplane misery. And that's without any delays etc...

I got in and saw all the cat stuff just where we'd left it and felt very sad. The apartment is very empty without Aya here. Although I know she's safe and probably having agrand time exploring my folks' place. Its more space than she's ever had.

The last night I was home in VT we decided the intro situation was good enough to let Aya loose for the night. She has obviously been lonely shut in the spare room all day and yowls when she hears me outside. She moved right into my room and snuggled up in my bed in her usual spot (my crotch). Its almost as if she knew it would be our last night together for a while. There was some stratiegic growling when Midori tried to enter my bed room and a small spat when she used the box there too!

Aw! I'd be lonely for her too! Glad you made it there safe and sound. I hope the next few months go nice and quick so you can be back with Aya!

Yes, it must be so very hard to be away from Aya. She is so darn cute too. I am sure the time will go fast as you will be so involved and have much to do.

Oh! I didn't know you were going back. I thought you both flew back to the US to stay!

Aya misses you too, but you will both soon be back together again. In the meantime when you talk to your family, have them put her on the phone so that she can hear your voice.

Call me crazy, but I sometimes call home and talk to my kitties by leaving a message on my answering machine. Don't know if they care, but it makes me feel good, hehe
