My Bengal Is Peeing And Pooping On My Yorkie's Wee Wee Pad

My almost 3 year old Bengal started peeing and pooping in my Yorkie's wee wee pad box. He has never done this before. He uses bio-degradable corn litter. What should I do to get him back to the litter box?

Cats do this when they don't like their cat litter. In fact, in some situations those pads are a godsend because they solve a terrible situation (cat going everywhere except the litter box) that for some time seems unsolvable.

Get two or three extra litter boxes and fill them with traditional clumping litter cats normally like. Try one called Cat Attract (Petsmart sells it) and a couple of others. Hopefully he'll find one he likes and will start using a litter box again.

I guess what's good for the dog is better for the cat At least he is using the wee wee pad. Smart cat you could probably train him on the toilet. Not sure what you can do about this now short of taking the pads away but then your Yorkie might start using the litter box sorry. Couldn't help that one slipped out.

I guess you could try to put a litter box next to the pads. There would be no way to separate the pads either because whatever the Yorkie can fit through so can the cat. Hmmmm. Maybe some kind of cat repellent? Not sure. Hopefully someone else will have better ideas.

Hi Accounting,

I am guessing your Bengal is an F5 or lower generation cat? If I am wrong please let me know.

I am surprised your Bengal has not done that sooner. It is very normal for a cat to "mark over" another animals waist. It is just a cats natural behavior. Plus a Bengal having some Asian Leopard Cat it in it can cause certain behaviors. So in some cases a behaviors can be magnified in a Bengal when compared to a regular domestic cat.

So my best suggestion is to keep your dogs "bathroom pads" in an area your Bengal can not get to. Like a room that is possibly off limits to the cat.

The above idea/suggestion should stop the problem. If not try cat attract litter or you could put the dogs pads in the litter box ?

Hope that helps and if you need any clarification please let me know.
