Ok everyone, I have lots of news to report today! First, I have picked a name for the calico kitty who we've been calling Missy Hissy. Miss Hissy will still be her nick name but her new official name will be Carmella!
I think it is very befitting of a beautiful Persian lady!
Last night Carmella all of a sudden decided she was fed up with being alone in the craft room and wanted to find out what she was missing. She kept meowing really loud by the door and wouldn't let up. She is a very persistant little lady indeed! So I decided to let her out and see what she would do.
Carmella came out of her room and checked out every other room in the house. She then got nose to nose with Peaches (they hadn't met yet but had smelled each others scents). They had a stare down for a good 5 minutes and then Carmella walked away. No fur flying or eyes scratched out. I was a littie worried about that because if they got in a fight it wouldn't be a fair one. Peaches doesn't have front claws (not my doing) and Carmella does!
Now all of a sudden Carmella is doing much better. She is still a bit stand-offish, but I can deal with that. She'll warm up in time, I'm sure of it now! She likes to come out and watch everything going on and when she has enough, she returns to her quiet hiding place in the craft room closet!
Miss Henrietta tried to take the lead position yesterday but Peaches would have nothing to do with it! Peaches is a very classy lady and handled it well, letting Henrietta know gently but firmly, that wasn't going to happen!
I got some cool pictures of Henrietta and Peaches playing this morning. I'll share them when I get them developed!
