Does anyone know anything about vintage clothing? I found an amazing vintage dress at a thrift store today! I was hoping to learn a little more about it! I know the designer is Kay Selig and that she was big in the 50s and 60s but thats it! It needs some repair, but overall it is in amazing condition!

It is! I have seen her dresses on vintage clothing sites for around $300... this one was $8!!!

Here is the pic for those not on facebook!

Its pretty wrinkled right now though! but I couldnt wait to take a picture! Its a little snug, but I am on a diet and working out so hopefully it will fit perfectly very very soon!

I LOVE vintage clothes, mainly from the 50s. Beautiful dress!

I have a poodle skirt I have to get pictures of! I gained a loooooot of weight since I got it, though, so for now I can't wear it.

If you don't mind, I'll post some of the things on my wish list!

2 problems- those are all way out of my price range, and I need to lose weight before I go and get new clothes. There's a vintage clothing store across town, where I plan to go.

I never heard of her, but here's some info. She was in the 1960's:

I love the first 4 dresses. Are those true vintage? Or are they vintage inspired pieces?

thank you guys! I love it! I cant wait to get it steamed! And probably the straps taken out a touch and the sash hemmed up! Now to find something fancy to wear it for! Most likely a few weddings and maybe some other random occasions!

Oh yeah and to add another question:

What would you call this? A cocktail dress I guess? its not really formal but it seems fancy being silk and all the different angles with the pleating... any opinions?

I def think a cocktail dress.
but, you probably could also throw on a nice denim jacket and sandals if you wanted to wear it out to a nice dinner.

When you wear it, show us pics!

It looks like cocktail dress. I adore it.

The pics I posted are all vintage inspired pieces. The store I mentioned where I plan to go is a thrift shop specializing in real vintage clothes.
