Sick Kitten?

Hey everyone.

My wife and I adopted 2 kittens a couple of weeks ago. Different litters. One is a maine coon DLH mix. The other is a DLH Persian mix. They are respectively 13 weeks and 9 weeks old. When we got the kittens they both had some sort of a bacterial infection in their intestines. They both had very liquid elimination, not much of an appetite, and weren't very playful. we took them to a vet and got a prescription. We completed the prescription and all of the above symptoms cleared up.

A couple weeks went by without any issue, but just last night our 9 week old kitten started walking around our apartment meowing incessantly. She then ran about 2 feet from the litter box (she urinates in it, but she doesn't like eliminating in it) and had a very liquid elimination. We tried putting her in the litter box, but she jumped out and ran away. About an hour later, she came into the room meowing in the same way, but this time she vomited clear foam. She again ran away. She wasn't very playful for the rest of the night.

She had another very liquid elimination about a half hour ago, and we don't know what to do.

How do we make her use the litter box to eliminate? Her routine hasn't changed at all, and there hasn't been any added stress. What made her have the liquid elimination? What should we do as the owners?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We only have so much cleaner left! they are eating blue (the brand) kitten food.

You should take her to the vet because she still may have some of the infection. Also, add a few more boxes with Cat Attract litter for kittens.

Welcome to the site and sorry your kittens are sick. Sounds like the kitten did not fully recover and needs to be seen again by the vet. I think if I were having this trouble with the diarrhea, I would confine the kittens to a small room with all of their necessities. I would also set up two litter boxes. Some kitties want to pee and poop in different boxes. I would keep the kittens confined until you get this diarrhea under control. Any number of things could cause the liquid stool in kittens. Did they have a stool check? Have they been wormed? Could be an intestinal infection. did the vet prescribe Metronidazole when they were sick a couple of weeks ago? Kittens can go downhill quickly if not eating or drinking so I would call vet in the morning. Keep us updated
