I'm so sorry, MA. Bless you for loving Shell and having the courage and compassion to let her go. She touched many people and will not be forgotten. RIP sweet Shell.

It could only be that such a very special little kitty in need would find that one very special woman to tell her story and unite a world of such diverse people in a flood of compassion.

It could only be that such a very special woman would take on the care of such a very special little kitty without a thought in the world as to "how:" just knowing she needed and wanted love was more than enough.

Now people all over the world have been inspired to follow in your footsteps, MA.

Shell is truly a miracle, MA, and you are a gift.

And to think - "all" it took was to do what you do best: care. Shell was carried to the angels by the heart of an angel.

If we are, of course you are. Oh MA, she wanted to live, she was just too damaged before she found you. Her condition was beyond heartbreaking, and that makes us cry in pain, but her spirit gives us a happy cry, and the fact that things like this happen, are allowed to happen, makes us cry bitter angry tears...

But the hope is that just one kitty will change the fate of many, and maybe they'll be rescued before it is too late. That thought makes me smile. (While crying LOL).

I really hope I'm not opening old wounds here but I wasn't around this spring and I just stumbled upon Shell's sorry (in the marketplace, of all places), and I how have tears streaming down my face. In the hour it took me to read through the thread I fell in love with her and her spirit.

 

MaryAnn, I don't have the words to explain how much I admire you and what you did for her. The entire thing just amazes me...what you did for her, the love she had for you (leaping up on the bed to be with you), and how so many people came together to try to help her. I'm just speechless right now. Who knew a tiny little cat could touch so many lives. And that she did. I know I will never forget her story...I just wish I was around when it was happening.

 

Anyway, I hope you don't mind me resurrecting this thread, but I wanted to thank you for being her angel and to tell you how sorry I am.
