Scary new foster kitty

Ok guys, I'm a more than a little concerned because a new foster kitty is arriving this afternoon, and she sounds a little scary. Her name is Skeffington (after the formal wear retailer) and she's about five years old. She's been described to me as a quirky, demanding tuxedo girl. I find this scary because I already a quirky, demanding little tuxedo girl - my Gracie. The thought of having two of them in the house is frightening.

On a more serious note, I'm fostering Skeffington for some friends who are also involved in rescue. They want to see how she does in a different environment before they actively begin promoting her for adoption. Skeffington has demonstrated a fear of women in the past, so they're hoping some time here will help build her trust level.

Please send some calming vibes for Skeffington as she settles in. She actually sounds a like a real sweetie and I can't wait to meet her. Pics coming later. Thanks!

Look forward to the pics. It seems a fear of men is not uncommon in rescue animals, that's uh, interesting that she's afraid of women. I'm sure your home environment will bring out the best in her though (as long as Gracie & Claire behave )

Thanks, guys. Might be a few days on the pics. Skeffie is very scared right now. She accepts petting, but doesn't seem entirely comfortable with it. She did move from under the bed to the closet overnight and used the litter box, but hasn't eaten anything yet. Her rescuers are coming by tonight to visit her, so hopefully that will reassure.

Aww, poor little girl! I'm sure with some time in your home she will come around.
