I brought my kitten home from a shelter last Wednesday. When I brought her home she was very curious, playful and affectionate. A perfect kitten- took immediately to the litter box and her scratching posts and so loving, just purring non-stop! She was so outgoing and totally unafraid of anything (including my dog!).
However, on Thursday she didn't eat any food and became lethargic, and on Friday I brought her into the vet. She was treated at the vet for dehydration and put on medications to boost her immune system and treat her for parasites/worms/etc.
My question is- yesterday and today she has shown a completely different personality than when I first brought her home. She is still gentle and sweet (not aggressive), but she has taken up under a chair and will not come out voluntarily. She's become indifferent to being with us. Will she go back to her previous loving and inquisitive personality once her immune system and digestion issues are resolved?? I want the kitten I first took home to come back!
