Colonoscopy.

I don't mind the procedure, I just hate the prep.

And I'm missing two hours of my life. I remember going in the operating room, but I don't remember coming out, waking up, getting dressed, or coming home (Dottie drove me home).

And I got a printout with some pictures of parts of me I never expected or wanted to see. But I got a clean report, not even any polyps or diverticula.

Glad you got a good report! I hate colonoscopys. Did you have the one day prep or the 3 day prep? I had one a few years ago and I had to take MoM every night for 2 days then drink a gallon of this crappy tasting stuff the third day. Stupid me thought I would still be able to function at work the third day. Yeah, right...only if they moved my computer into the ladies room! My husband had one a few months ago and his prep was only 1 day and he just had a packet of powder he had to mix in gatorade. I would have much preferred that!

Congrats on the clean report!!

I remember when my boss had a colonoscopy, the day before he had it I got to leave work around noon, that was when the 'cleanser' stuff started to kick in. The office was the upstairs of the house, so, it wouldn't have been pleasant for any of us for me to be around. I think I got the day of his appointment off too, because he was so groggy.

They must have changed how they do a colonoscopy. When I had my last one done (some years ago now) I prepped and did not have anaesthesia at all. I was wide awake and a bit uncomfortable but the prep was still the worst part. I'm soooo overdue for that privilege and know I must really get it done.

Seems to depend on the doctor, in these parts. My dad had one and was not sedated at all. Needless to say, the next time he had to do it, he requested a different doctor, who does use sedation.

Mike, if it makes you feel any better, I'm not even close to "old-age" and get to enjoy this privilege every year! Prep is the worst (for me, it's not being able to eat for days)...I just consider the procedure a good nap.

I am glad you got a clean report. Because of that, they wait longer until time for the next one.

DH had that done last month. He had to drink that crappy stuff too. He got a clean bill of health too. Congrats!
