I've been spending way too much time there with my latest obsession; not important what that is (yet
). I see this time and time again...and with seasoned posters on eBay. I mean thousands of feedbacks.

WHY post fuzzy, out of focus pictures to showcase the items??? Most of the time they have a bunch of photos, sometimes they will have the same shot twice - one out of focus, one in focus. Or one or two of the shots are either hugely washed out or so dark you can barely see anything.

This is the day of digital cameras. You see what you shot right after you push the button. 99% of the time I can tell immediately if it's not right - blurry, bad lighting, etc. Yet some people apparently feel they have to post every image they shot.

It drives me nuts!

I think in some ways, particularly if the item is used, it is strategic. Blurry, bad photos tend to hide nicks and stratches that the seller may not want potential buyers to see. They may describe the items as "in used condition," but those are just words and leaves it to the imagination of the buyer. If the buyer complains, the seller can say, "well, I did provide you with many photos of said item. I didn't mislead you."

However, if an image is sharp and crisp and clearly shows all the details of the imperfections, the buyer(s) will be completely turned away.

I notice that as well. I was buying sega genesis/regular NES generation video games on ebay and I could have sworn from the quality of the pictures that they were taken when the games had just been released in 1993.

I had to get a refund for 130 worth of clothing after the guy stopped emailing me ended up getting them ready to donate. Not what I wanted but sure someone will enjoy them.
