I dont know if this has been asked before or for a while

What drew you to TCS?

I first joined a forum 7-8 yrs ago (for all pets) and I just loved the people. It went under a few yrs later and I bounced from forum to forum, never finding the "right" one...people were too clicky or they just plained ignored new members. I was on another cat forum but they pushed RAW 24/7 and they were so clicky and rude....I didn't stay long.

When I decided to bring another cat into my home I started searching for other cat forums, came across this one and I just LOVE it, love the people, love the layout I just like it all...so here I am to stay

I lurked here for several years before I actually joined. Then, once I joined, I think it was still 3-4 months or so before I got up enough nerve to start posting. I don't start too many posts myself, but I do enjoy reading posts and responding to them.

I was trying to find out if anyone had dealt with chylousperitoneum. I had just lost my cat, Spot to it.

Then I found out how wonderful you guys are and kept coming back.

Logging in each day feels like putting on a pair of comfortable sneakers!

Interesting question. I actually found this place for completely non-cat related reasons. I was doing a Google search on some topic (politics, probably) and followed a link that lead to the IMO board. The title of the site interested me, so I bookmarked it in my browser, but quickly forgot all about it. Some months later when I was bored, I found the bookmark again, checked out the site in earnest, and signed up.

I had some totally trivial question about cats, and googled. There was TCS high in the list of hits. I can't even remember now what was on my mind -- certainly nothing critical -- and I browsed around for a couple of hours and got totally hooked. The rest, as they say, is history.

My mom wasn't a big fan of cats so when I moved in with her I couldn't have them.

I always loved Meezers in particular and before I joined I convinced her to "just visit" a litter of Siamese kittens, knowing she'd fall in love. I was so happy to have a kitty again and excited to talk about them I sought out cat forums using Google, found this one to be my favorite by lurking, bookmarked it, and saved the privilege of joining until I finally had brought home Molly. (Then as some of you know, my mom and I both had fallen in love with Polly and we went back and got her less than a week later. )

Now it's almost 5 years later and I'm so glad I joined this forum.

I was trying to find answers on how to deal with a feral colony that had members with FeLV in it, and by a bad accident it spread into my home. That was close to 8 years ago. I've learned a lot since then.

I lurked around on this site for about two months before I joined. It was in Sept. 2005. I had lost my soulmate, Max, in July of that year and I needed comforting. It was such a hard blow to me and my husband that we couldn't talk about it to each other. You guys comforted me very well. I have made some good friends here. Thank you.

May I ask you aj, what brought you here?

Well what drew me to TCS was the fact that I had a little 4 week old kitten on my hands, without having had any prior experience with cats, other than when I was little and they weren't really my responsibility...
So, I was googling info on cat care, especially since Jake at 4 weeks wasn't eating solid food yet so I had to feed him KMR and then wean him off of that by mixing a little canned food in it...
It all went well though, and I'm soo glad that nature gave little baby kittens the right instincts to feed themselves and sleep and grow!!! It was truly such a powerful thing for me to see...

So, in short TCS was one of the sites that popped up when I googled kitten care, and I generally prefer forums to simply reading info, because I find that seeing people going through the same thing with their cats is much better to learn from, so of course I joined immediately and started posting!

This is a great question my friend...
I remember well as it was yestarday that cool day!...I was in the office desk always question me about, why my close friends of here do not are "CAT-PEOPLE"....so I began to "Googlear" and of course in my country I find some spanish pages of cats, BUT for destiny reasons the seeker show me as firts option TCS... so I want to join 2 personals goals in my life....
1.- talk with a lot of people who love the cats as I´m!...
2.- Do it the up but in English!...

So the rest is history... I have been here for around lot!...


GREAT question Ashley!... sometimes the simply facts of the life are the most enrich to us!...
