DD's Bilbo has been missing for two nights now and of course she is distraught. She teaches and lives on the 400 acre campus of a large private boarding school, which includes living and teaching blocks, staff houses, sports grounds, stables, a golf course and a lot of wild forest. Bilbo is known to most people and has freedom to roam, but he has never been gone so long and is always home to eat and sleep. She has emailed all college members and support staff, been searching the grounds all night, and now does not know what to do. He knows his way around so I fear that if he could get home he would have by now. He is either shut in somewhere, or has had a fatal accident or encounter with a fox. I can only hope that it is the former and that DD's mails will make peole search their own property.
Bilbo started life here, as one of my foster kittens, and Dd fell in love with him and his sister and took them back tot he UK to live with her. His sister, MIna, is also looking for him, crying and sitting watching the cat flap.
I can't think what else to advise her to do apart from ringing the vet and the police today and putting up a notice at the local railway station in case someone off campus has seen him. Any further suggestions and a lot of vibes would be appreciated, we all know this is one of the worst nightmares. DD has already agreed that if he comes back she will keep the cats inside at night from now on, something she has refused to consider up till now.
