He sounds like a normal Dachshund - every one I know is "barky".When I was a preteen, the guy next door had a little smooth-haired Dachshund, Jenny, who would bark at everything, too, even the telephone, washer and dryer! It used to crack me up.

There's an exception to every rule, and it does sound like your dog is a little neurotic lol, but yes, most dachshunds are pretty vocal.
