Hi everyone - this is my first time posting.
I have two orange cats, a male and female, I got them from the shelter when they were about 6 months old. I've had them for two years. Both of them are fixed and supposedly they are brother and sister.
Moose, the male, is a big momma's boy. He's my shadow and he follows me around the house. Zoey, the female is a little girl who looks like she's been rolled in dust and needs a bath.
Most of the time they get along jsut fine, but we're finding that he's a jealous guy. They have separate litter boxes becuase he won't let her use it and sparate water and food bowls for the same reason. Both cats were pretty scared and probably pretty close to feral when I got them. Zoey has become a lap cat and Moose likes to cuddle. Neither of them really like to be picked up but that has gotten better in the two years we've had them.
I'm not quite sure what to do about the food. We've watched him keep her away from teh food bowls and eat both bowls before she can eat. There are days where I stand in the door way that separates the bowls so blocking him so taht she can eat. I used to be able to call her to the second bowl while he was eating, but it seems he's wised up to that and now he comes when i call her!
I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any experience with this?
thanks!
