Cat Urine Black Light Shows A Lot

I bought a black light to help me spot urine stains from my new kitten in the carpet, but the black light shows quite a lot of spots all over. I have had cats before who had occasional urinating problems.

My guess is that the spots do not go away after being cleaned or that other items cause the spots also. I actually used Urine-Off one spot and it did not budget.

IIRC, enzyme cleaners break down the bacteria that glows under blacklight. So perhaps try a different cleaner and be sure to soak the stain thoroughly and let it sit.

try Wee Cleaner- crazy name for a product that works.

Every time I've used a black light, I see a lot of glowing spots--even in places I'm pretty sure have never been peed on (or at least they don't smell like it). And, if I clean a spot and it still smells like pee, if I put the black light to it nothing shows up. So I don't know just how useful those things are.

I just had to grin as I was reading this post.

I got one of those black lights when I was trying desperately to keep track of the peeing my elderly kitty was doing.

My hubby was not as understanding as I (he feels badly about it now that she's gone) and so I was trying to keep up with the smell.

It did a pretty good job, but of course showed old stains aw well. I have used a lot of urine-removers and apparently there was still a chemical that lingered behind.
I will say that "This one Works!" does.
