I love my cats like they were my biological children and one of my babies had 4 shots at once, being the first time I had vacinations for my cat, I was mortified and very concerned when I saw how she was acting afterwards, the lethargy, hiding under the bed for 3 days, not drinking or peeing. My legs actually hurt from going under the bed so much to hand feed her, as she is normally very playful and social, this was very hard for me and my world seemed to revolve around her. As i googled some answers to see if anyone had a similar expierence I was, of course, given alot of reassurance of how normal it is afterwards for a cat to act that way for a bit. Mostly, this site helped, I ended up reading many different posts on this board and felt 100% better seeing that people had the same issues and their kitties pulled through just fine : ) So, thank you for the wonderful insights and advice I picked up in the past week, and I hope to post here often now.

One of my cats didn't do well having three shots at once. He had such a difficult reaction, the vet splits up the shots and does it three different times. He only charges me one office visit, but I bring the cat three times for the shots. You might want to let the vet know about the reaction your cat had. Welcome to the site. I hope you learn a lot and enjoy being here.

I don't think i will be doing shots anymore unless necessary, the rabies wasn't needed since they are all indoor only but she made me feel like a monster for not doing so before! I just wish i researched more before I went ahead with it. the whole reason i took her was just for anal glands

Both of my kitties had severe reactions to their rabies shots...
they are indoor kitties so with our vets blessing, unless they have to be boarded sometime, never again.

The only time I had one of those reactions was when Bugsy took a regular Rabies Vaccine, as oppose of PureVax. None of my cats ever had trouble with PureVax, including Bugsy.
My vet now only does the 3/4-in-one vaccine once every three years for indoor cats, which is great... As far as rabies, it is the law so they will have it... especially since I have a sitter come in so often to take care of them when I travel. But one thing is for sure - never again anything else but PureVax. Bugsy's reaction really scared me...
