Hi,

Im a little concerned about my tom cat Ollie he is 8 months old and has bee nuetered.

For the past week or so he has been very reluctant to eat his wet food (still eating his dry fine). I put it down for him he has a sniff a couple of mouthfulls then will whine at my fridge or if im standing at the worktop preparing dinner. i know they say that he should be having approx 3 pouches a day but i would say that out of the 3 im putting down he taking about one.

Also i have noticed that he has started shedding loads much more than he ever has. We are in spring now so i didnt know if this could be him shedding a winter coat so to speak.

thank you in advance

rachael

p.s. he has also been wormed

Hi Rachael!

About this time of the year you can expect most cats to start shedding their winter coats. You'll probably find that brushing him daily or almost daily helps to keep the house from getting saturated with fur and will also help prevent hairballs from him.

As for the wet food, maybe he is like my Toby. At one time I tried feeding him wet food at one meal and dry at another. He decided he really preferred the dry and wouldn't eat the wet. Since I didn't want him eating nothing but dry I had to go with all wet. Once he realized wet was all he was going to get he ate it just fine.

Good luck!
