I would blow hot air on it pretty continually with a hair dryer on "Low". Clean water? If so, just keep tapping on the keys while you blow water under them. Laptops usually have a membrane under the keys to help avoid this problem, so it may take a while to dry them out.

It might be a good idea to turn it off while you're doing this, since you don't want a drop of water to get where it shouldn't be and short something out.

oh man, it looks like a secret government code!

Do you have an external keyboard around (from a desktop) or could you get hold of an inexpensive one? You should have a socket on the side or the back of your laptop that you could plug it into - that might help to solve the problem in the meantime.

You guys crack me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, we did not have a spare keyboard from a computer around.

I had taken the battery out, unplugged it, dabbed with paper towels (couldn't soak anything up), stood it on its side and used an air can on it. I turned the house heat up and again, on its side let the heater blow up into it. I was REALLY psyched when it turned on. Went to deal with e-mails, and almost all my websites and passwords have "a" in them in some shape or form, and wondered why my passwords weren't working.

Finally figured out a couple of very important keys weren't working! I mean - it couldn't have been the number keys or something? (the laptop has the number pad on the right side). Or it couldn't have been some of those keys????????????

NO.

I JUST had to send the darn thing out to get the power thingy fixed.

So we had to run out today anyway, so I bought a little USB keyboard that sits perfectly on top of the laptop keyboard LOL.

I'm "back in business" until I feel like losing it for 3-4 weeks to get it officially fixed.

I think the a, b, n, and enter keys are fried.

Linda, thanks for the links. I suspect it's too late for me to heed any of their advice, but I'll go have a look.
