UT Health food

Thread Starter
My cats have been on Royal Canin SO for about 7 months and have gained a bit of weight. One is three pound overweight the other is two. Today the vet suggested switching to Hill's W/D, because it's also for struvite prone kitties and is for weight control. Has anyone out there had any experience with UT kitties and W/D?

My urinary cat turned diabetic was on w/d for a few days before I got my sense back and put him on all canned. I use the w/d for one cat-Max hes lost some weight on it(has bad bouts with his stomach and wd settled that) hes got some weight to still lose but a big improvement.

My diabetic(benji) is now food controlled no insulin needed in few weeks Great food for some but way to high carbs to work for a diabetic IMO

I would go with what your vet says. Ask about your concerns, but in the end, I always follow what my vet says. The food isn't just food, it's medicine.

Good luck with your kitty.

I go with the vet and also ask him to help you work out portion sizes. My boy was overweight and also had to go on Hills CD - that food is very rich so the portion sizes have to be small for my guys...smaller than I would have thought on my own. Good luck.
