Queen Eva the Burrower (and other pictures)

Queen Eva likes to burrow. She's discovered that the self warming mat on the Play House is actually more like a sleeping bag than a bed (it never got finished because when I put it on the play house Tolly said he liked it the way it was and I should keep it there, so it has been there for four years, it was one of the first self warming cat beds I ever made

She always starts deep in there....

....

and ends up like this

The other day I saw the mat humped up

I said Queen EEEEV-ah! and a paw appeared

As always, she finishes the session like this

Jennie knows that Tolly always leaves a little food in his supper dish so she waits......

I was couchless for 3 months. The cats and I missed having a couch a lot. They missed having me read on it at night, because they love piling on top of me.

Jennie expresses her pleasure here (this is her Ultimate Contentment Pose, with her paws stretched straight out in front)

Jennie's ears are slightly back because we had company coming to join us, you can see Queen Eva settling in back there

Tolly and Mazy sunbathing. The angle of the sun has changed enough now that it is once again shining through all afternoon. When there is any, that is, which is rare. But they soak it up when it is

We had a warm day finally so they got to go outside. For anyone who doesn't know, my cats are harness trained and I take them out into a fenced yard, I never leave them alone, I stay with them.

Whatcha doin Jennie? <hiss swear, this is my corner gerrout!>

Queen Eva just giggles and flops...and shows off her Secret Stripes

The adult cats don't like the wet grass, they always get on the rugs

Tolly and Mazy, with Queen Eva trotting past

Your Queen Eva and my Squeak could be sisters! British Bombay cats, which look much like our black beauties, are heat seekers. And that certainly describes my Squeak! My long haired cat Dusty doesn't burrow at all.

Nope, I didn't cover her up like that. She did that all by herself!

Awww.....!

Yes I thought early on that Queen Eva must have some Bombay in her and when I looked it up found out the same thing you said, that they are heat seekers. She loves to sleep under the covers curled up pressed against my stomach.

This was the picture, actually, that made me look up Bombay cats (she is four months old here) her puffed cheeks!

She is so beautiful! Well, they all are...

Holland is a burrower too, and she sleeps under the covers. Maybe it's a black cat thing.

Thanks for looking everyone.

My last Burrower was my Bibbs. She was a black and white (tuxedo). My Burrower before Bibbs (who I think taught Bibbs to Burrow was Sissy, Sissy was a tortie.

Beautiful pics!

Genever is a burrower as well, under blankets and towels and whatever else. There were a few times I was really worried that I couldn't find her, and then finally found her in/under a blanket just piled on the couch (not folded up like it should be). So there were no kitty lumps even, just looked like a bunched up blanket.

You're going to have to change her name from havoc wrecker to heart breaker! She is just so cute!!

Loved seeing ALL your kitties. They look like they are enjoying the sun and the great outdoors.
