I noticed that Lita my Ragdoll had a very loose stool yesterday. On a closer exam.....it appeared to have blood in it. Very concerned....I took Lita to the vet today (Sunday). I took a stool sample with me. The vet examined Lita and the stool sample. He said everything looked normal.....and to cut back on her treats. She loves the Kitty Kaviar....and I have been giving it to her 2-3 times a day. She follows me around all day like a puppy begging me for more. He gave me some pills for her loose stool and sent us on our way. This really made my day.......and I thought that I would share it with you.

Wow that's interesting that he said treats could cause loose/bloody stool

I give Zoey Kitty Kaviar once or twice a day too. Havent noticed anything odd about her stool.

Also just as a tip, that I found out.. Kitty Kaviar is just dried bonito flakes.. you can find them at any asian market. I got about 3 times as much as the Kitty Kaviar for less money

The cat could have a touch of colitis. Simply adding about a teaspoon of warmed canned pumpkin to the wet food can clear that up quickly. Good for you for taking the cat to the vet to be sure.

The vet did not see any blood either. It must have been something else that I saw. Both my Ragdolls have loose stools right now. I have not made any diet changes except for giving them about 1/3 a can of Kitty Kaviar a day. The vets eyes poped out of his head when he saw the can with 75% protein in it. My Ragdolls follow me around the house all day begging for more...and me being a sucker....I give in. I will be cutting them both off until things get alittle firmer..LOL..Thanks for the tip on the asian market...I will try that.

Not likely Tammy....I am Mr "all natural" foods here....and only feed my "furchildren" foods with no dyes, by-products or perservatives in anyway.
I don't know what it was....but the vet did not see any blood thank god.

Yay!!
It's always such a great relief when it turns out to be not too serious. I always get in a knot, and end up a nervous wreck.

Uh-oh, are you sure it's safe to cut them off the treats cold turkey?
They may get desperate enough to mug you
