Why are our PM boxes limited?

Why is the amount of PM storage so limited? There are many PMs that I would like to save, and it's such a hassle to copy and paste them to a word processor. I am on another forum, and I believe you can store about 500 messages on there. Does it have to do with the bandwith? Just curious.

I know I was surprised when I came up this afternoon and it said my PM box was 90% full. I just deleted them though...no biggie for me.

PMs require server storage space which does cost the site. You can become a member which provides more PMs.

You can also download your PMs by selecting the PMs with the check box to the right of the message and then selecting "Download as TEXT" from the Selected Messages drop down at the bottom of the page. Click on the "Go" button and you will be prompted for a file name to save them.

Thank you so much for the tip! I didn't know that you could download them.
ETA: I downloaded them, and it is SO much easier than copying and pasting all the info like I was doing before. It's no problem now!
